Position Title: Independent Sales Representative                

Works directly with: Escapada Sales Manager

 Escapada, Inc. is a successful, growing, privately held company that is expanding its sales efforts in existing markets and entering new markets. We are based in the Charleston area, and we design, import and distribute women’s resort wear clothing from Indonesia. Escapada Living has built a loyal customer base with over 2,000 specialty stores and luxury resorts. Escapada Living is ranked 2nd fastest growing company in SC by Inc. Magazine and ranked #387 on the 2014 Inc. 500 list for Fastest Growing Business list from 2011-2013. Escapada is seeking a motivated Independent Sales Representative that works closely with their account base both on the road and at tradeshows.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Lead Research & Follow-Up

  • Responsible for all retail and lead inquiries acquired through home office within your sales territory
    • Research and verify potential new accounts
    • Research and verify conflict accounts and/or saturated areas within your territory
    • Communicate in a timely manner with Sales Team at home office on lead confirmation
    • Prepare or recommend suggested orders for new accounts
    • Once an account is verified, continue follow-up efforts until the account places their introductory order

 Travel directly to stores within territory

  • Visit every account quarterly to show most recent Escapada collection and write orders/re-orders
  • If you have a showroom, accounts can be scheduled to view the line there instead of visiting directly
    • If you work shows only once or twice a year, traveling on the road for the other quarters is expected
  • Pioneer territory by opening new accounts in target opportunity areas
  • Submitted orders on a weekly basis is expected

 Customer Service

  • Write orders/re-orders
  • Answer account questions
  • Responsible for confirming receipt of sales orders submitted to home office and/or account
  • Handle conflict, saturation, and other issues that may arise from accounts in your territory
  • Attend remote Quarterly Sales Meetings for each collection launch
  • Assist Customer Relations Team with advising trouble accounts
  • Build rapport and relationships with accounts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have an acquired list of active current accounts
  • Have a package of other lines you already represent that is complimentary to Escapada
  • Established in industry preferred
