How to Throw a Galentine’s Day Party, as Seen on The Glitter Guide
We all know Valentine's Day is a ton of fun, but have you ever celebrated Galentine's Day? This spinoff of the holiday focuses more on friendship and less on romance, and it's the perfect excuse to throw a festive soiree with your gal pals. We teamed up with some local girl bosses for the occasion, and the fabulous ladies at The Glitter Guide were even kind enough to feature the event on their blog!
We love supporting Charleston's small business community, so participating in this collaboration was a no-brainer. A party filled with balloons, bubbly, and local entrpreneurs? Count us in. The celebration was planned by Liz, from Charleston Weekender, and Ashley, from All Dressed Up. Here are their must-haves for the ultimate Galentine's Day bash, as seen on The Glitter Guide!
1. Outfits on Point
If you're like us, your first thought about any event is "What should I wear?" For this particular occasion, the girls picked out coordinating navy and white pieces from Escapada Living, creating a cohesive (and perfectly Instagram-able) color scheme that flattered everyone. Some sassy tassel jewelry completed their outfits. To recreate this look with your friends, Liz suggests selecting a color scheme/ theme that looks connected but still allows everyone to show their individual personalities. Top off your outfits with complementary jewelry, and you'll have a group of outfits that work together without being too matchy-matchy.
2. Darling Decor
Now that you've figured out what to wear, it's time to make sure the decor looks as fabulous as you do. Like the clothing, a cohesive color scheme + thoughtful details go a long way here. The #CHSgalentines ladies headed to the Legare Waring House in Charleston for their fête, even booking a vintage bus so they could travel together in style. Then they set up a stunning tablescape by Yoj Events, complete with fresh flowers, Turkish towel table runners, and some cozy pillows. The final product struck the perfect balance between fancy and comfortable, creating a fun, relaxed vibe.
3. Fabulous Food (+ Cocktails!)
Every party needs the three C's: cake, cocktails, and Champagne. A floral-trimmed cake, custom cocktails, and festive Champagne paired together perfectly for this Galentine's Day soiree. Fun details like a gold bar cart, mismatched teacups, and customized place settings were the icing on the cake for a girly picnic!
4. Gorgeous Gifts
Remember when you were a kid and every party ended a gift bag? We think it's time to bring back that tradition. For this event, the girls put together grownup goodie bags, filling these gift boxes with local treats, jewelry, and hand-lettered Valentines. We love the idea of having everyone contribute an item to the boxes, so you'll be reminded of your Galentine's Day party every time you use one of those gifts!
