Hurricane Florence Relief Efforts: How You Can Help

We’re so thankful that Hurricane Florence spared Charleston, but our hearts are with our northern neighbors who weren’t as lucky. Sending thoughts and support to all those impacted by the storm. It’s clear that some of these communities will need extra help to recover so we thought we’d share some different organizations that are working on Hurricane Florence relief efforts in the Carolinas.

American Red Cross: Over 1,500 Red Cross disaster workers are already working in the relief efforts. Text Redcross to 90999 to give $10 or donate your own amount here.

Americares: This health-focused disaster relief organization group is collecting donations for emergency medicine and other supplies here.

North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund: Text Florence to 20222 or donate online here.

North Carolina Community Foundation: This local humanitarian organization partners with nonprofits serving the needs of local individuals and communities in the impacted areas of North Carolina. Donate to the NCCF Disaster Relief Fund here.

Visit North Carolina/RecoverBrands: Presented in partnership between Visit North Carolina and Discover South Carolina, 100% of the proceeds from each sale of Recover Brands’ CAREolinas” tee will go directly to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund and One SC Fund to aid in hurricane recovery efforts.

Food Bank CENC: The organization is providing food, water, hygiene items and cleaning supplies to storm victims. Donate funds here or donate food at a Food Bank distribution center or online via the Virtual Food Drive.

GlobalGiving: The nonprofit crowdfunding site has launched a Hurricane Florence relief fund.

MAP International: This organization has provided 4,000 disaster health kits throughout North Carolina and other regions affected by Florence. The kits provide medicine and other essential health items to prevent the spread of disease in the wake of national disasters. Donate here.

Team Rubicon: Donate or fundraise for Team Rubicon’s disaster response and recovery efforts here.

American Humane Society: This national charity is helping animals escape the storm. Donate here.

Habitat for Humanity: Donate to Habitat’s response to Hurricane Florence here.

Task Force 75: This volunteer-run disaster response team of military veterans, provides search-and-rescue teams, animal rescue teams, first aid personnel, and general humanitarian assistance to affected areas. Donate to their GoFunMe campaign here.
