Where to Celebrate the Fourth of July in Charleston

Next Tuesday is the Fourth of July (but who could forget?) Maybe you have Tuesday off, or maybe you even have a five day weekend... regardless- we’re celebrating! Charleston is celebrated as a historic American city, and its tremendous Fourth of July celebrations are nothing short of historic themselves.

Festivities Start During the Weekend

While there is plenty of going on in the lowcountry, we're most excited about this Boone Hall celebration, Stars and Guitars. Hosted annually by Boone Hall Plantations, this Fourth of July festivity is sure to be a blast. Bring your lawn chair and get ready to rock to the musical styling’s of country star Trace Adkins! Midlands and all girl group Runaway June will also be there to start this Independence Day shindig.

July 4th Celebrations

No matter where you go in the LowCountry- there will be something going on to celebrate Independence Day!

Folly Beach

We recommend getting to Folly Beach early in the day. Enjoy the sun, the beach, and the equally patriotic company. Go for a swim, or even fish off the pier. When the sun goes down, the fireworks come out.

Mt. Pleasant

Spend the day and night at the Patriots Point Firework Blast. Board the USS Yorktown for a tour, enjoy the live music, and food. The celebration begins at 4PM and goes on into the night, ending with the Firework Blast.

Isle of Palms

Cruise on down to Isle of Palms. Enjoy the day at the beach, grab a bite to eat at the Windjammer or some ice cream at Ben and Jerrys! Fireworks start at 9pm on Front Beach.

Sullivan’s Island

Check out Sullivan’s Island for its legendary Golf Cart and Bicycle Parade! Then head to J. Marshall Stith Park for music and fireworks!

Charleston

Spend the day at Middleton Place. This is a family friendly event, full of crafts, games, and even a hands-on military drill! If that’s not your style there are plenty of cruises, concerts, and much more. In fact there are too many to list! Fireworks kick off at sundown.
