Best Coffee Shops in Charleston

Well, it’s official: the Escapada Living office can't pick a favorite coffee shop! Coffee in Charleston is just too good- and the atmosphere is even better. Check out this list of some of our favorite spots around Charleston.

Black Tap

If you’re sick of traditional dimly lit cafés, Black Tap is for you. Try their incredible and creative coffees and latte’s. Our favorite is the lavender latte!

City Lights Coffee

If you can dream it, they can do it. Enjoy the virtually unlimited drink combinations in this cozy little café. Could this be Charleston’s own Central Perk?

The Daily

The Daily is the sister of Butcher and Bee. You know, that sister that is some how even more photogenic? The Daily was practically designed for Instagram. Have your coffee cake and Insta it too.

Mercantile and Mash

Unsure what to get for breakfast? Merc has tons of options. The coffee is fantastic, and you can stay for 5 minutes or 5 hours.

Welkin Coffee

This hipster hang-out makes some of the strongest black coffees around. They offer a lot of varieties and even the King of Pops!

Tricera Coffee

We didn’t ask for a dinosaur themed coffee shop- but we got it. The atmosphere at Tricera is super fun, but we’re here for the food. The bagels and breakfast burritos are to “dino” for.

Muddy Waters Coffee Bar

Located over on James Island, Muddy Waters is that quirky coffee shop you’ve always dreamed of.  Everything there is local, from the ingredients, to the wall art.

Vintage Coffee

Vintage Coffee is located in Mount Pleasant.  The lattes are wonderful, and the food is delicious. It has a bright and inviting atmosphere. Hang out inside, or head to the out door area, which has a playground for kids.

Down the road in Mount Pleasant is Metto Café. Metto has insanely delicious coffee, and a classic coffee house atmostphere. Stop in, or use the drive through.
