Vieques Island, Puerto Rico

This tropical island oasis remains under the radar to most tourists. This is due to the fact that until 2003, the island was occupied solely by the U.S. Navy.  The land once used for bombing practice has been converted into a protected national wildlife refuge.

This untouched island is home to the world’s brightest bioluminescent bays.  The billions of micro-organisms glow a magical green-blue at night.   This island is Puerto Rico’s hidden gem.  Enjoy private, white sand beaches and turquoise waters on an island that is occupied vastly by wild horses.

St. Maarten

St. Maarten (or St. Martin) is the smallest parcel of land shared by two countries.  The French and Dutch have been living in harmony on this 37 square-mile island since 1648.  The North and South sides of the islands differ greatly.  The Dutch side boasts various resorts, casinos and beach bars, whereas the French side is more relaxed, with a harbor full of colorful boats, town filled with shops and Mediterranean cuisine to die for.  There’s so much to explore on this island, but one must see is Maho Beach, where visitors line up to watch one of the most extreme plane landings in the world.
