The Most Romantic Places to Travel for Valentine’s Day

There’s no better gift than a Valentine’s Getaway with your loved one. If you're in need of a short holiday, say ‘I Love You’ with a trip to one of the most romantic destinations in the world. This is your moment to sweep your significant other off of their feet.

1. Paris, France

Spending Valentine’s Day in Paris should be on every hopeless romantic’s bucket list.  Nothing beats admiring the most romantic city in the world from the Eiffel Tower.  Take a stroll through the city of lights and enjoy a romantic picnic in the park. Get lost in the cobblestone streets, indulge in chocolate ganaches, and visit “Le Mur des Je t’aime”, the wall dedicated to love.  If you’re willing to splurge, glide down the River Seine on a romantic dinner cruise.  There’s no shortage of things to do in this romance filled city on Valentine’s Day.  Also, the winter months are Paris’ slow season so you may even be able to get a deal on a hotel or flight!

2.  Italy

You can find romance in Italy all year long. Whether you’re in Venice, visiting the Padlocks of Love, or Verona, where Romeo and Juliet took place, Italy will romance any traveler.  The chocolate, pizza and pasta alone will make you fall in love all over again. Verona, Italy hosts a four-day event called Verona in Love, where a large red heart is painted in the center of town, heart shaped lanterns light the plaza, and musicians and actors perform.  One of the most popular gifts in Italy is Baci Perugina, which is a box full of small chocolate covered hazelnuts wrapped in romantic quotes translated in four languages.

3. Aspen, Colorado

Bundle up by a fire with your loved one while you watch the snowfall. Valentine’s Day is conveniently right in the middle of ski season. Have the best of both worlds by spending the day on the slopes and then unwinding at the spa after.  Aspen’s downtown is lined with world-class restaurants and designer boutiques as well.  There’s no other destination that fits elegance and romance into a ski resort.

With its world-class wineries, spectacular views, and abundance of romantic dining and lodging options, Sonoma is any wine lover’s paradise on Valentine’s Day.  Treat yourself to dinner at one of Sonoma’s Michelin starred restaurants, visit one of the most romantic hotels in America, and more importantly, visit one or more of the four-hundred wineries.  There’s no short list of things to do in Sonoma Wine Country.

5. Hawaii

Known as one of the most romantic destinations for honeymooners, there’s no bad time to visit these magical islands.  Every island is different, but each is packed with culture, luxurious resorts, restaurants, world-renowned beaches, and natural wonders.  Get lost on island time and forget about everything.  The serene, white sand beaches, turquoise water, and vast skyline of mountains are sure to romance you and your loved one.  For those adventurers, hike to one of Hawaii’s natural wonders, snorkel alongside colorful fish, or go for a catamaran sunset cruise.
